WILDCATS WILD BATS JET PAST AQUINAS

STRUTHERS, OH- Jared Laczko threw a shutout to lead Struthers past Aquinas 11-0 on Saturday.  Jacob McQueen collected four hits in four at-bats to help lead Struthers to victory. McQueen doubled in the first, singled in the second, doubled in the third, and singled in the fourth.

In the first inning, Struthers got their offense kick started when Anthony Monaco singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.  Struthers kept it going when they put up six runs in the third inning. JD HallMcQueenMonacoLaczko, and Billy Opritza each drove in runs during the inning.

Laczko earned the win for Struthers. He went five innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out seven and walking one.  Jacob Stephens took the loss for Aquinas. He went two and two-thirds innings, allowing nine runs on 11 hits, striking out two and walking one.

The Wildcats lived up to their billing as they racked up 15 hits on the day. McQueenMonacoBrandon Breznai, and Rob Tomko all had multiple hits.   McQueen led the team with four hits in four at-bats.

Mitchell went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Aquinas in hits. Aquinas was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Max Kaczynski made the most plays with four.
