18U: BELL SHINES AS ASTRO’S EXACT REVENGE ON KNIGHTLINE
STRUTHERS, OH- Astro Falcon Manager Don Pletcher didn’t need much of a speech to rally the Dirty Birds together for their game on Saturday. All he had to do was point to their 10-7 loss on May 31 to Knightline(5-6), and hand the ball to one of the area’s top pitchers, Logan Bell. The soon-to-be Akron Zip proved the rest, as he and his teammates flew past Knightline 12-1 to draw even in the season series and keep their nest atop the standings in the league.
Bell did more than hold up his end of the bargain going the distance in this abbreviated 5-inning game. Bell scattered four hits, and walked a pair while striking out eight, and not allowing an earned run to cross the dish.
Offensively, Josh Hoffman and Burke Camper continued to impress, each driving in 3 runs. Camper also went yard in the contest Chase Franken and Dom Pilolli stayed hot at the top of the Astro lineup as they each contributed a pair of hits and runs scored with an RBI apiece.
Patrick Coleman suffered the loss giving up 6 runs (5 earned) in 2 innings of work. Coleman struck out 2 while walking one while being hit 7 times.
Gabe Faunda went 1-2 for Knightline.
