18U: HATS OFF-PROSPECTS DEFENSE SHINES IN WHITING SHUTOUT

STRUTHERS, OH- Zachary Hernon twirled a five-hit shutout to pick up the win in a 5-0 victory for Prospects (9-4) over the Whiting Roll-Offs (3-9).  Hernon struck out and walked one batter each.

Logan Hurley suffered the loss for Whiting, yielding all five runs (four earned) in five innings of work while striking out and walking three batters each.

Nick Guarnieri had two hits and drove in a run for Prospects.  Gage Tomko had a hit, a run scored and two RBI in the game. Defensively, the star was Lorenzo Russo who made a multitude of outstanding grabs in centerfield to keep Whiting off the basepaths.  Russo also thieved a pair of bags on the night.

Whiting had five different players get a hit in the ball game.
