LADY WARRIORS COMEBACK FALLS SHORT AGAINST LAUREL

BESSEMER , PA- Thursday was a long day for Mohawk, falling to Laurel 14-4.

Laurel took the lead for good with nine runs in the second inning. In the second an error scored one run for Laurel, Boyd was hit by a pitch, driving in a run, Miles drew a walk, scoring one run,  Zeppelin drew a walk, scoring one run, Maine singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs, Brua drew a walk, scoring one run, Deal drew a walk, scoring one run, and Kissick drew a walk, scoring one run.

Boyd got the start for Laurel. The bulldog went five innings, allowing four runs on three hits and striking out seven.

GiGi Cowher started the game for Mohawk. The hurler surrendered 11 runs on four hits over one inning, striking out one. Aricka Young threw three and two-thirds innings in relief.

Maya McGreal, Young, and Ava Nulph each collected one hit to lead the Lady Warriors.

Deal led Laurel with two hits in three at-bats.
