ANDERSON WALKS OFF WEST BRANCH TO REGIONAL FINAL

AKRON OH- West Branch stole the lead late and defeated Revere 12-2 on Thursday to advance to the regional championship. West Branch was down 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning when Jordan Anderson doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Anderson collected four hits in four at bats to help lead the Warriors to victory. Anderson singled in the first, doubled in the fourth, doubled in the sixth, and homered in the sixth.

West Branch pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning.

The Warriors put up nine runs in the sixth inning. Their big inning was driven by home runs by Jaci Thomas and Anderson, a triple by Ryley Pittman, a single by Sam Morris, and by Skylar Greeneisen.

Anderson was the winning pitcher for West Branch. The lefty went six innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out seven and walking one.

West Branch smacked two home runs on the day. Anderson went yard in the sixth inning. Thomas had also had a homer in the sixth. Thomas and Anderson went back to back in the 6th. Anderson’s home run was a walk off to seal a run rule victory.

West Branch tallied ten hits in the game. Anderson and Pittman each racked up multiple hits. Anderson led with four hits in four at bats.

West Branch advances to take on Triway on Saturday in the regional finals. That game will be at Firestone Stadium in Akron. First pitch is set for 12:00.
