ASTROS ICE AVALANCHE
STRUTHERS, OH- Pitching was the name of the game in this one, as two outstanding pitching staffs went toe-to-toe with the Avalanche giving just a bit more rope than they wanted when the dust settled. The Astro Falcons were able to pile 7 hits and force a pair of errors to help Cal Bickerstaff get a victory 5-1 on Saturday.
Bickerstaff held his own, for certain. The Kent State commit toasted 10 batters while walking 1 over the course of 7 innings, giving up a run on 4 hits.
Ricky Havrilla and JJ Wetherholt pushed in a runner each while Lucas Gulcznski brought home a pair. Youngstown State commit, Chase Franken, continued his assault at the dish by going 2-4 and roping a triple.
For Avalanche, Aaron Ellsworth went 6 innings and struck out 4 while walking five. Ty Tamburro provided the only RBI, while Peyton Olinski was 1-2 with a double and a walk.
