AVALANCHE EXTENDS WINNING STREAK TO 6

STRUTHERS, OH – The Avalanche 16U Youngstown Class B Baseball team is red hot in the month of June. The Avalanche looked to extend their winning streak to 6 games against Ballistic. The Avalanche took a dominant lead in the first four innings, and held on to a last inning comeback in the seventh.

Avalanche came out of the gates swinging, with back to back doubles from starting pitcher Noah Philson, and second-baseman Andrew Gault. Both guys scored and it was a quick 2-0 Avalanche lead after the first inning. The Avalanche scored a run in the third inning, followed by 2 more runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth, Santino Piccirilli led off with a triple into left center, with EH Aiden Bowser bringing him home with a sacrifice fly. The Avalanche had a controlling 9-0 lead heading into the last inning, but Ballistic didn’t quit scoring 4 runs in the seventh. Avalanche would keep Ballistic at bay, winning the ballgame 9-4.

Noah Philson was spectacular on the mound for Avalanche, recording 5 shutout innings, allowing just 1 hit and striking out 8 batters. Avalanche has now won 6 games in a row to improve to 9-2 on the season, extending their win streak to 6 games in a row. Ballistic is now 4-6 on the campaign.
