BADGER LEAVES BLOOMFIELD ON EMPTY
KINSMAN OH- Badger brought the heat Thursday, shutting out Bloomfield 7-0 behind a filthy showing from their ace. The right-hander was dealing all game, racking up 14 punchouts while giving up just three hits and a few walks over seven shutout innings.
This one was tight until the sixth, when Badger cracked it wide open with a five-run surge. A string of patient at-bats and bases-loaded walks did the trick, plus a defensive miscue from Bloomfield helped pad the lead.
The scoring started in the third with a couple of clean singles, giving Badger an early edge they never gave back.
At the dish, Badger spread the love. Four different hitters knocked in runs, and they showed discipline at the plate, working six walks. Defensively, it was a clean sheet—no errors and a strong showing up the middle with 14 fielding chances handled by one of their anchors.
Bloomfield managed just three base hits and couldn’t get anything going against Badger’s starter, who was untouchable all night. Badger hits the road Friday for a matchup with St. John.
