As the lone senior in a lineup brimming with youthful exuberance, Bartels’ presence has been more crucial than ever. Her leadership and relentless positivity have been a beacon for the team’s rookies, guiding them through the highs and lows of the season with veteran savvy and encouraging cheers from both the dugout and the diamond.
This year, raising her batting average was at the top of Gretchen’s offseason priorities, and her dedication has certainly paid dividends. Throughout the season, she’s consistently been at the top of the stats sheet, battling for the first or second spot in team batting average. This uptick isn’t just a personal victory; it’s been a boost for the Raiders’ offensive firepower, giving them a dependable slugger at the heart of their lineup.
