BATTLE OF THE BRIDGE GOES TO OAK GLEN

EAST LIVERPOOL, OH- The Potter’s defense came well prepared Friday night as they were able to hold an Oak Glen offense who has averaged 40+ points a game to start the season scoreless for the first 3 quarters of action on Homecoming night at Patterson Field.

The Potter offense struggled to back up the defensive effort and Oak Glen was able to keep the East Liverpool defense on the field and wear them down in the fourth quarter to take the battle of the bridge 21-14.

Derek Carter led East Liverpool with 137 yards on the ground but it was All-State player Nick Woodyard who was responsible for both East Liverpool scores on only 10 touches Friday night. One of those being an electrifying 85-yard kickoff return for a score. As for the Bears Hunter Patterson put on a show as he turned 26 touches into 222 all-purpose yards.

East Liverpool’s Breanna Kelly was crowned homecoming queen at halftime.

Potters travel to Martins Ferry next week, while Oak Glen is at home VS Edison
