EAST LIVERPOOL, OH- The experience and talent of the Beaver Local Beavers were on full display as they rolled to a straight-set (25-11, 25-17, 25-20) victory over rival East Liverpool at a raucous Potters Fieldhouse Thursday night. The Beavers, coming off a very successful 2020 campaign, showed quickly, and often they are ready to repeat that success this season. The Red and White owned the net all night led by Grace Hill with 10 kills, Elizabeth Kolkowski with 9 kills and 4 blocks, and Bailey Bowersock with 6 kills and 19 digs. Brooke Talbot contributed a great all-around game 8 kills, 10 assists, 9 digs, and 2 blocks. Emma Joseph had a great performance as well setting up the Beaver’s attack with 15 assists. Kodi Kinsey anchored the back row for the winners tallying 13 digs.
During the 2nd set, in what could be nominated as the rally of the year, Coach Sarah Lowe took notice of her team’s hard work “The rally in that 2nd set really showed our hustle and desire, it’s what we preach every day and I could not have been more proud of the effort on display”
East Liverpool was led by standout Sophomore Kiya White with 14 kills / 4 blocks. Faith Grafton and Gabby George also contributed 11 and 7 assists respectively for the Potters. East Liverpool (2-1) will attempt to right the ship hosting Crestview at 11 AM on Saturday. Beaver Local (2-0) looks to continue its success hosting Minerva at 11 am on Saturday.
