BEAVER LOCAL TAKES DOWN BIG RED
EAST LIVERPOOL, OH- The Beaver Local volleyball team won its OVAC match with Steubenville Big Red in 4 sets Wednesday Night 24-26, 25-13, 26-24, 25-18. The Beavers started strong taking a 7-2 lead in the first set before Big Red rallied to win the first set. Beaver Local came back to comfortably win the second set. In the third set, Steubenville appeared to take the lead up 23-21 before the Beavers rallied to win 5 of the last 6 points to take the set before winning the match in the fourth set.
Leading the way for Beaver Local was Brooke Talbot with 17 kills, 12 digs, 12 assists & 2 aces. Cierrah Thurik had 23 digs, Elizabeth Kolkowski had 13 digs, 6 kills, 5 blocks & 2 aces, Kodi Kinsey had 9 digs & 3 aces, Grace Hill had 9 kills, 3 blocks & 2 aces, Karlee Furman had 22 assists, 14 digs & 8 kills, Corin Turkovich had 7 digs, & Bailey Bowersock 7 kills, 6 digs & an ace.
The Beavers are now 10-2 & host Oak Glen & John Marshall in a tri-match on Saturday. Steubenville is now 7-5.
