BEAVER TAKES CARE OF WEST SIDE FOES

INDUSTRY PA- Sami Springman put on a show Wednesday, driving in four runs and helping Beaver power past Western Beaver 13-6.

Springman got the Bobcats going early, knocking in a run with a single in the first, then doubled in another in the second. But the big swing came in the fifth—she crushed a two-run shot to right, capping off a day where she went 3-for-4 with a homer, a double, and a single.

Beaver jumped on the board right away in the top of the first. Springman and Cali Coups each delivered base hits, and a miscue by Western Beaver let another run come across. They kept the pressure on in the second with back-to-back hits from Springman and Abby Hojdila to build a cushion they wouldn’t give up.

Jaedyn Brown took care of business in the circle. She worked all seven innings, gave up 11 hits and six runs, but punched out nine and walked just one to lock down the win.

Bridget Mayo was locked in at the top of the order, going a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate. Springman and Hojdila each drove in four, while the Bobcats as a team showed patience at the dish, drawing seven walks and staying clean in the field with zero errors. Hojdila also led the way defensively with nine chances.

Western Beaver didn’t roll over—they racked up 11 hits of their own. Kaitlyn Zele was the spark plug in the middle of the order, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs. She got help from Brooke Certo, Izzie Lefebvre, Bella Colatriano, and Cadence Verba, who each picked up a pair of knocks. They also turned a clean double play defensively. Beaver rolls into their next one Thursday on the road against Ambridge.
