BEAVERS BOUNCE BACK WITH CONVINCING WIN OVER MINERVA

MINERVA, OH – The Beavers defeated the Minerva Lions 45-12 behind an offensive explosion in all aspects on Friday night. Their defense also improved as they did a much better job defending the run.

The Beavers’ defense forced a 3 and out to start the game, and their offense  didn’t take long to get on the board, as they took just 5 plays to drive about 60 yards and punch it into the endzone on a Tanner Johnston rushing TD. It was all Beavers the rest of the game as well, as their offense allowed under 5 first downs in the first half, and scored 31 points in the first 24 minutes of the ballgame. Ethan Lewis shook off his 4 INT performance last week to throw 3 touchdowns, 2 in the first half. The first was a 32 yard bomb to Dylan Moore on the second drive of the game. The other was a 7 yard back end zone throw to James Monte. His 3rd came in the third quarter with a 45 yard TD pass to Caleb White. The 4th TD in the first half was a Jacob Kane rushing TD on a first and goal towards the end of the first quarter. The final touch on the win was a rushing 35 yard rushing TD for Daniel Wirth in the final minutes of the third quarter.

The Beavers will now prepare for a tough test at home against rival East Liverpool. Pregame at 6:40, kickoff at 7:00 on YSN Beaver Local
