BEAVERS DISMANTLE SKINS IN NEW TURF REVEAL

INDIAN CREEK OH-

The Beavers had nothing short of a perfect night, as they were able to debut their new turf field under all the lights, and they didn’t disappoint at all winning 49-0 against the Indian Creek Redskins.

The Beavers started with a defensive stop, allowing one first down to Creek in the first drive. They got the ball at the IC 32 to start their first drive, and tokk 3 plays to punch it in on a 15 yard TD pass from Tanner Johnston to Caleb White. The defense then shut down the Creek offense, getting 2 three and outs in a row, setting up 2 quick touchdowns. One a 37 yard TD pass from Johnston to Dylan Moore, the other a 40 yard TD run by Johnston, who took home our G. Burbick Farms player of the game honors.

Up 21-0 with just 49 seconds left in the first, Tommy Warrick made the rare defensive lineman interception and made the most of it, taking it to the house for a pick six. After one quarter, the score was 28-0, and things didn’t stop there. After a couple first downs, Creek punted the ball away, and the Beavers made another long house call. This time, it was senior RB Devin Salsberry, playing in his first game of the season due to injury, took it 45 yards to the end zone. To cap off the first half scoring, Logan Krulik got himself a pick six from 43 yards out to make it 42-0, the score at halftime.

One analogy I would use to describe the first half would be Ohio State playing Maryland or Rutgers last year. Joe Monte mad a 36 yard TD run in the second half, and that was it for scoring, as the Beavers opened up the new turf field at Pastore Field with a HUGE victory over the Indian Creek Redskins, the first time the Beavers had beat the Skins in over 7 years, and the first win over Andrew Conner’s team in Coach Mike McKenzie’s career

The Beavers will host the Minerva Lions next Friday on YSN Beaver Local.
