BEAVERS DOUBLE UP THEIR RIVALS

East Liverpool lost the lead late in a 14-7 defeat to Beaver Local  on Thursday. The game was tied at six with the Beavers batting in the top of the fifth when Micah Jones doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

Evan Tice collected four hits in defeat. Tice singled in the third, doubled in the fourth, singled in the sixth, and singled in the seventh.

Beaver Local opened up scoring in the second inning, when Michael McKenzie drew a walk, scoring one run.

After Beaver Local scored one run in the top of the sixth, East Liverpool answered with one of their own. Beaver Local  scored when Logan Blissenbach grounded out, scoring one run. The Potters then answered when Trent Davis hit a solo homer.

East Liverpool put up four runs in the fourth inning. Their big bats in the inning were led by an error on a ball put in play by Devin Toothman and a double by Tice.

Kristian Lantz got the win for Beaver Local. The pitcher lasted three and a third innings, allowing five hits and one run while striking out four and walking zero.

Mason Ludwig took the loss for the Potters. Ludwig lasted four innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out seven.

Avery Wiegand started the game for the Beavers. The southpaw went three and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on six hits and striking out two

East Liverpool socked one home run on the day. Davis had a long ball in the sixth inning.

East Liverpool totaled 11 hits. Tice, Davis, and Toothman all managed multiple hits. Tice went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead in hits.

Beaver Local racked up ten hits on the day. Jones and Dalton Curran all had multiple hits. Jones led with three hits in five at bats.
