BEAVERS LOOK SHARP AGAINST COLUMBIANA

EAST LIVERPOOOL OH-  Beaver Local was firing on all cylinders Thursday, rolling past Columbiana 10-4 in a game that broke open early and never looked back.

Columbiana jumped out first with a sac fly in the second, but Beaver Local answered right away with a game-tying groundout. Then came the flood. In the third, the Beavers ripped off five runs on three hits, including a clutch double that brought home two and flipped the momentum for good.

From there, the Beavers poured it on, racking up nine hits and swiping six bags. Paxton Grimes was a menace—two hits, three RBIs, and four stolen bases. Jhett Boyd matched him with three ribbies of his own, and Isaac Dailey chipped in with a pair of hits.

On the hill, Braxton Hickman got the job done. The righty went six and a third, striking out seven while giving up six hits and four runs. Britton Hickman came on in relief to shut things down late.

Columbiana had some pop in the lineup, with Max Conway and Daniel Goehring both picking up two hits and Conway driving in a pair. They stayed aggressive, stealing five bags and turning a clean double play, but the damage from that big third inning was too much to overcome. Beaver Local heads into a Friday showdown with Crestview riding high.
