BECK IS AT HIS BEST

By Michael Wolfgang

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO – As much as some spectators like to see a lot of offense, seeing a pitcher locked in on the mound and absolutely dealing for a no-hitter is a special site to see. Jameson Beck of Canfield brought his A Game to the ballpark to no-hit Austintown Fitch and lead his team to a narrow 2-1 win.

The righthander Beck allowed zero hits and one run, striking out seven Falcons and allowing one base on balls.

AJ Harvilla had the hot hand on offense for Canfield going two-for-three at the plate to be the teams hit leader. Harvilla’s teammate Davis was responsible for the two Canfield runs as he was the teams RBI leader with two. Two runs on seven hits with one error committed defensively was the winning box score line for Canfield.

The Cardinals will look to snatch victory again for the second straight night over Austintown Fitch when they meet once more Friday night. This time around, Canfield will play host with the first pitch set to be thrown at 5:00 p.m.
