BELL HAS CAREER NIGHT, LISBON ROUTS TIGERS

WELLSVILLE, OH- It was all business for Senior Standout, Logan Bell and the Lisbon Blue Devils on Monday Night.  Bell came to the ballpark in Wellsville 14 strikeouts shy of the single-season school record.  While he ended up just shy of that on Monday, he contributed in plenty of other areas to beat Wellsville 16-1.

Bell would go 3-4 with two doubles, and a grand slam, driving in 8 runs on the night.

Lisbon got things moving in the first inning, when Bell doubled on the first pitch of the at-bat, driving in one.  However, the sixth was the capper for the Blue Devils.  Lisbon tallied seven runs which came from singles by Tyler Welsh and Ryan Reckner, a walk by Justin Sweeney, and a deep fly by Bell.

Bell also was the winning pitcher for Lisbon. He went six innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out 12 and walking one.  Bell didn’t allow a hit until the fourth inning on a Seth Kerner single.

For Wellsville, Kerner took the loss. He lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits and eight runs while striking out one and walking one.
