BENSON’S RECORD BREAKING NIGHT GIVES LEOPARDS A TRIP TO DISTRICTS

LOUISVILLE OH- Louisville came in to Wednesday night as the underdogs. Traveling on the road, they made sure to bring their bats with them. Sophomore Matti Benson broke the single season home run record with her 12th to propel Louisville past Howland in a slugfest 12-9.

Benson went 2-5 on the night with that home run, and 2 runs scored. Jenna Collins was unstoppable as she went 5-5 with a HR, 2 RBI, and a run scored. Brooke Brendle also collected 2 RBI on a 2-5 day.  Kenzie Denzer went 2-5 with 3 runs scored. Shelby Mayle had a solid day going 3-5 with a run scored, and a RBI.

 

Katie Heath pitched the complete game for Louisville. She gave up 9 runs, 7 of them earned,  and struck out three. She threw 118 pitches, and had a strike percentage of 57%.

Louisville advances to the Austintown district semifinals where they’ll meet the host Fitch Falcons. That game is slated for Monday. First pitch is set for 3:30.
