BLUE DEVILS BLANK THE BEARS
LEETONIA, OH- The Lisbon Blue Devils defeated Leetonia 19-0 on Thursday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Cameron Summers led Lisbon to victory by driving in five runs. He went 3-for-5 at the plate. Summers drove in a run in the second, a home run in the fourth, and a single in the fifth. The Blue Devils opened up scoring in the first inning. Mason Rance drove in one when he singled. Lisbon would put up five runs in the fifth inning. Lisbon batters contributing to the big inning included Summers, Garrett Cox, Jaikep Entrikin, and Seth Donaldson, all driving in runs in the inning.
One bright spot for Leetonia was a single by Olenik in the second inning. He would lead the Bears at the plate.
Logan Bell was the winning pitcher for Lisbon. He lasted four and a third innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out seven and walking zero. Josh Entrikin threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen. Kuntz took the loss for Leetonia. He surrendered nine runs on nine hits over two and a third innings, striking out two and walking one. The Blue Devils tallied two home runs on the day. Summers had a dinger in the fourth inning. Bell had a four-bagger in the third inning.
All-together, Lisbon tallied 21 hits. Donaldson, Summers, Rance, Bell, Entrikin, Blake Reynolds, and Tyler Toot each managed multiple hits for Lisbon. Donaldson led the David Anderson Blue Devils Varsity with four hits in five at-bats.
