BLUE DEVILS FIND THEIR SHOT

BERLIN CENTER OH- In the first half of the season Western Reserve had been leaning on their defense while their offense struggled to find consistent scoring. That went out the window during the opening minutes of their game against McDonald on Friday night. As part of a girls/boys double header, Reserve set the tone in a hurry jumping ahead 21-0 before you could blink.  A lot of those points came from behind the arc as well.  That would be all the Blue Devils would need to roll to a 60-37 win.

Brooke Schantz had a fantastic day leading the Reserve scoring with 21 points.  She wasn’t alone though, Kylee Ramsey burned McDonald’s defense with 5 three pointers on her way to 16 points.  Madi Leone contributed 9 points to the offense with a three of her own. The Blue Devils hit 13 perimeter shots as a team.

McDonald was led by Julianna Krumpak, and Gracie Callow with 9 points each.  Alivia Morrison worked her way to 7 points to help out the Blue Devils.

Western Reserve gets right back at it on Saturday night as they host Mineral Ridge. A 2 quarter JV game will begin at 6:00. The varsity will follow. McDonald is back in action on Monday as they travel to Sebring.
