BLUE DEVILS GET A NO HIT EFFORT FROM WELLMAN

BERLIN CENTER OH- Brock Wellman was brilliant on the hill on Tuesday, as he threw a no-hitter to lead Western Reserve Varsity Blue Devils past McKinley 27-0.

Hunter Stacy collected four hits in four at bats to help lead Western Reserve to victory. Stacy singled in the first, singled in the first, singled in the second, and singled in the second.

The Blue Devils got things started in the first inning. They scored one run when Stacy singled.

Western Reserve notched 12 runs in the second inning. Stacy, Jack Darney, Evan Slaven, Hunter Taylor, Peyton Hartzell, and Steve McCracken each drove in runs.

Wellman earned the win for Western Reserve. The pitcher surrendered zero runs on zero hits over four innings, striking out seven and walking one.

The Blue Devils had 23 hits in the game. Stacy, Darney, Wellman, Brayden Saunders, Slaven, and Taylor all collected multiple hits. Darney and Stacy each managed four hits to lead. Western Reserve didn’t commit a single error in the field. Darney had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
