BLUE DEVILS LATE LEAD SCRATCHED AWAY BY UNITED

LISBON, OH-  The Lisbon Blue Devils lost the lead late in a 10-5 defeat to United on Saturday. United was down 5-4 in the top of the sixth inning when Jared Delvichio singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.  United opened up scoring in the first inning. Tyler Humphrey grounded out, scoring one run.  United knotted the game up at two in the top of the fifth inning, when Ethan Antram grounded out, scoring one run.  Lisbon notched three runs in the fifth inning via contributions from Cameron Summers and Garrett Cox, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.  The turning point was United scoring four runs in the seventh inning. The offensive firepower by United was led by Parker HydrickZack Himes, and Gunner McIntosh, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Kyle Bailey earned the win for United. He surrendered five runs on six hits over seven innings, striking out eight.  Cox took the loss for the Blue Devils. He lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits and eight runs while striking out two and walking one.  Logan Bell started the game for Lisbon, and lasted four and a third innings, allowing one hit and two runs while striking out eight.  Altogether, Lisbon tallied six hits. Summers and Josh Entrikin all collected multiple hits for The Blue Devils. Entrikin and Summers each managed two hits to lead the way.

United totaled eight hits in the game. Antram and Brady Leymen all had multiple hits for United. United tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Birtalin led the way with two.
