BLUE DEVILS OFFENSE STAYS IN OVERDRIVE

BERLIN CENTER OH- Hannah Heath would not be denied at the plate on Wednesday, picking up four hits and leading Western Reserve to a 13-8 win over Salem. Heath singled in the first, singled in the third, singled in the fourth, and singled in the sixth.

Both offenses were strong at the plate as the Blue Devils collected 13 hits and Salem 12 in the high-scoring affair

Western Reserve took an early lead in the first inning when Aubrey Kutsko drew a walk, scoring one run.

Western Reserve took the lead for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Katie Byers singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Alexa Abrams doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs, and Lexi Pence grounded out, scoring one run.

Salem scored three runs in the fifth inning. Salem’s big inning was driven by a single by Kylie Skinner and a double by Channing Toy.

Heath earned the victory on the rubber for the Blue Devils. Heath went five innings, allowing six runs on eight hits and striking out six. Maggie Byers threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Western Reserve tallied one home run on the day. Kutsko went deep in the fourth inning.

The Blue Devils tallied 13 hits. Heath, Kaleigh Williams, and Kutsko all managed multiple hits. Heath led the way with four hits in four at bats.

Salem racked up 12 hits on the day. Chase Toy, Paige Menough, and Bella Brant each collected multiple hits. Toy went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Salem in hits.
