BLUE DEVILS SEND SEBRING PACKING
LISBON, OH- The Blue Devils are possessed. They know they have the talent to make a run in the OHSAA Tournament, it’s just a matter of stringing hits together. They would do just that against Sebring on Thursday evening. Lisbon won the contest against Sebring McKinley by a final score of 8-3.
McKinley got things started in the second inning when Jake Hunter singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. The Blue Devils knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the third inning, when Logan Bell singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run. Lisbon then pulled away for good with seven runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth an error scored two runs for the Blue Devils, Bell singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run, and Cameron Summers tripled on a 3-2 count, scoring three runs.
Summers earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Lisbon. He lasted four innings, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out six. Josh Entrikin threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Dylan Johnson took the loss for Sebring. He lasted six innings, allowing six hits and eight runs while striking out two.
In total, Lisbon racked up six hits. Garrett Cox and Bell each had multiple hits for the Blue Devils. Bell and Cox each collected two hits to lead Lisbon.
Sebring racked up 13 hits in the game. Brandon Gray, Hunter, Gabe Lanzer, Josh Hammom, and Trent Ritchey all managed multiple hits for the Trojans. Gray led McKinley with three hits in four at-bats.
Lisbon will head to St. Thomas Aquinas this afternoon to take on the Knights. First pitch is set for 5PM. The winner of this matchup heads to Cene Park next week.
