BLUE DEVILS TRIP UP CHANEY

YOUNGSTOWN OH- Lisbon had the bats rolling and the arms dealing Thursday as they took care of business with a 13-2 win over Chaney.

Ashton Hinchliffe set the tone at the top of the order, going 3-for-4 with a trio of base hits—one in the third, one in the fourth, and another in the sixth to cap a solid night at the plate.

On the hill, Bryce Esarey was in full control. The righty punched out 13 over six innings, giving up just four hits and two runs while walking one. Dominant stuff all night.

Lisbon got the scoring going early in the first with a couple of productive outs, then added another run in the third on a Brady Carpenter single to center.

The real damage came in the fourth, where Lisbon broke it wide open with five runs on just three hits. Nick Peruchetti drove one in with a single, Esarey got plunked to bring another home, and a passed ball brought two more across before Carpenter knocked in the fifth with a groundout.

Lisbon didn’t let up, and by the time it was over, they’d piled up nine hits. Esarey led the team with three RBIs, while Carpenter and Peruchetti each had a multi-hit night. Hinchliffe and Devin Kelly created chaos on the bases, swiping two bags apiece. As a team, Lisbon stole six and didn’t commit a single error in the field. Aiden Myers led the defensive effort with 13 clean touches.

Chaney managed a couple of hits, including a 2-for-3 night from one of their hitters, but couldn’t keep pace. Next up for Lisbon is a Monday matchup on the road at Madonna.
