BLUE JAYS SWING THEIR WAY TO BLOWOUT WIN

NORTH JACKSON OH- Macayle Thornhill didn’t allow a single run against Leetonia, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Jackson-Milton to a 19-0 victory on Friday

Mia Greco led the Blue Jays to victory by driving in four runs.  Greco went 3-for-3 at the plate.  Greco drove in runs on a single in the first, a sacrifice fly in the first, and a double in the second

Jackson-Milton got things started in the first inning when Greco singled on a 3-0 count, scoring two runs.

The Blue Jays notched eight runs in the second inning.  Jackson-Milton Varsity Blue Jays put the pressure on, lead by walks by Brena McBeth and Maggie Simkins, singles by Emily Fultz and McBeth, and doubles by Greco and Thornhill.

A single by Kaitlin Shingler in the third inning was a positive for Leetonia.

Thornhill got the win for Jackson-Milton. The ace allowed one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out 12.

Kaitlin Shingler led things off on the rubber for Leetonia. The bulldog lasted four innings, allowing 13 hits and 19 runs.

The Blue Jays smacked one home run on the day. Grace Johns went for the long ball in the first inning.

Jackson-Milton had 13 hits in the game.  Greco, McBeth, Paige Grope, and Fultz each managed multiple hits.  Greco went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead their team in hits.  The Blue Jays stole seven bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Camelia Blackmon led the way with two.

Kaitlin Shingler led Leetonia with one hit in three at bats.
