BLUE JAYS WIN THRILLER AT HOME

JACKSON MILTON, OH- Blue Jay country hosted one of the best MVAC games in week number two. The Jackson Milton Blue Jays hosted the Newton Falls Tigers to remain unbeaten in week number two. The Blue Jays and the Tigers went down to the wire in the final quarter, but Jackson Milton had a crucial pick down the stretch to win it 16-14.

Jackson Milton came out of the gate with an 80 yard drive to get on the board first. Inside the five yard line, Cayden Mitchell caught a pass out in the flats, and scored to make it 7-0 Jackson Milton. Later on in the first half, the Blue Jays defense put up a safety to begin the second quarter, increasing the lead to 9-0. The Tigers would answer in the second quarter with an 80 yard touchdown reception by wide out Jacob Kline, to pull within two points.

It was a one possession lead for Jackson Milton entering the fourth quarter, until the Blue Jays punched it in the end zone with an 11 yard touchdown reception by Aiden Stanke. The Tigers trailed 16-7 with less than 10 minutes in the game, until Newton Falls quarterback Alex Pennington broke out a big run down the sideline for a 45 yard touchdown.

With three minutes left to play trailing 16-14, the Newton Falls defense forced a punt at midfield. The Tigers were forced to throw the football with no timeouts remaining, and the Blue Jays defense capitalized. Jackson Milton defensive back Owen McDevitt picked a pass off and took it inside the Newton Falls 20 yard line to seal the victory. Jackson Milton improved to 2-0 with the victory, while Newton Falls drops to 1-1.
