BOARDMAN BATTLES TO THE VERY END

MASSILLON OH-  Both teams were strong in the pitcher’s circle on Thursday, but Walsh Jesuit was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a 2-1 victory over Boardman on Thursday to win a district championship. Tori Strines started the game for Boardman and recorded 18 outs.

Strines took the loss for the Spartans. Strines allowed six hits and one run over six innings, striking out four.

Sofia Hoffman, Cassidy Bryan, and Dana Haus each collected one hit to lead Boardman. Boardman was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Madison Wymer made the most plays with six. Boardman scored their run in the third when Strines hit a sac fly to score Hoffman.

We want to congratulate Boardman on an incredible season. They finished the season with a record of 12-15 and take the district runner up trophy.
