BOARDMAN SPARTANS FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP. 1) WITH DJ DOTA

BOARDMAN, OH – It’s always tough for a first-year Head Coach to step into any program while not knowing what to expect. Add on that you’re the third different head coach in a span of three years and that you’re taking over one of the biggest programs in the area, and then you may have started to scratch the surface into the mind of DJ Dota. Dota takes over a Boardman program that is looking for stability, and he may just be the man to install that. Dota comes joins the Spartans after spending four. years out of the head coaching ranks, where he last served as the leader for a West Branch program that won 38 games during his eight years at the helm.

Boardman is coming into a big measuring-stick week early in the season, as they will play host to the very dangerous Chaney Cowboys. Chaney (1-0) is coming off a 34-2 statement victory over the Poland Bulldogs in Week 1. Coach Dota discussed the highs of a very determined Week 1 victory in which his team only led for the last three minutes of the ball-game, and the improvements that his squad will have to make to be able to pull off the victory in their home opener.
