BOARDMAN TUMBLES IN PITCHER’S DUEL
BOARDMAN OH- Pitching ruled the day Tuesday, but Harding found just enough at the plate to edge out Boardman 2-0 in a tight one.
Both starters were dealing early. Collin Resetar kept the Raiders in check for most of his outing, racking up seven punchouts in just over four innings of work. But a tough break in the fourth—an error and a well-placed single—was all Harding needed to scratch across a pair and take control.
Gummy Hart did the rest. The Raider ace went the distance, scattering five hits over seven shutout frames while keeping Boardman off the scoreboard. He worked out of a couple jams with some big pitches and got solid help behind him on defense.
At the plate, Boardman got a couple hits apiece from Vince Butto and Grayson Eicher, but couldn’t find the clutch knock to bring anyone home. Harding got RBIs from Elias Johnson and Jayden Colbert, and Hart helped his own cause with a 2-for-3 day. Boardman’s got a bounce-back shot Thursday when they hit the road to take on Crestview.
