BOBCATS FLIP THE SCRIPT ON SOUTH FAYETTE
MCDONALD PA- Beaver pulled off a clutch comeback against South Fayette on Monday, flipping the script in the fifth and sealing the deal in the seventh for a 9-6 win.
Down 1-0 in the fifth, Beaver’s bats came alive. Three hits and a five-run explosion later, they had all the momentum. The big swing? Abby Hojdila roped a 3-0 pitch for a bases-clearing single, flipping the scoreboard in their favor.
South Fayette clawed back to tie it at six, but Beaver had the last word in the seventh. Olivia Peabody ripped an RBI double, Cali Coups followed with a two-run double, and Sami Springman tacked on another run with a single to put it away.
Taylor Young went the distance in the circle, tossing seven innings while allowing five hits and six unearned runs. She fanned eight but worked around six walks to keep Beaver in control.
At the dish, Beaver racked up 10 hits. Coups, Springman, and Bridget Mayo each had two knocks. Peabody, Hojdila, Coups, and Springman all drove in a pair of runs. The patience at the plate paid off, too—Beaver worked nine walks, with Jaedyn Brown, Young, and Rhiannon Rabassi each drawing two free passes.
Next up, Beaver hits the road to face Chartiers Valley on Wednesday.
