BRANT KEEPS SUPPLYING POWER

POLAND, OHIO – Poland softball got the best of Lakeview tonight, knocking off the Bulldogs 4-2 in a matchup of teams right next to each other in the NE8 standings.

Poland was the first to the scoreboard in the first inning when Katie McDonald grounded out to score one run. The flaming hot bat of Mary Brant steered the offensive ship for Poland. Brant sent a long ball over the wall in each of the third and fourth innings, also finishing the ballgame with three RBI’s.

The hits were all spread around throughout the Poland lineup totaling nine hits in the game. Elliana Thompson, Brant, and Kylie Hudran all collected multiple hits for Poland.

Ella Chadwick took the ball first on the rubber for the Bulldogs. The righthander went three innings, allowing two runs on eight hits, striking out one and walking one.  Ava Bacon threw three innings of relief out of the bullpen.

Both teams meet up again on Wednesday in game two of the series in Lakeview at 5:00.
