BROOKFIELD BREAKS THROUGH THE GATES

SALEM, OHIO- High School girls softball got under way as the Brookfield Warriors took on the Salem Quakers. The Warriors got things rolling early as they scored four runs in the first inning and never looked back as they went on to shut out the Quakers 8-0.

The Warriors were led by Sophia Hook and Cadence Huffman, who both had 3 hits. Miranda Nicholson was the winning pitcher for the Warriors allowing 4 hits and striking out 7. Emilee Lewis was on the mound for the Quakers, allowing four hits and striking out 3 in a losing effort.

Salem will try to get into the win column when they take on Columbiana this Thursday. Brookfield will take on Liberty on Wednesday.
