BROOKFIELD LAYS THE BOOM ON THE VIKINGS

Brookfield weathered a scare by LaBrae in the first inning where they coughed up three runs, but Brookfield  still won 12-3 on Friday. LaBrae scored its runs on a home run by Desi Allen.

In the first inning, LaBrae got their offense started when Allen homered on a 2-1 count, scoring three runs.

Brookfield pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Abby DeJoy singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Jenae Pugh singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run, and Grace Schultz singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

The Warriors tallied four runs in the fifth inning. Their offense in the inning was led by Autumn Sirochman, DeJoy, and Izzy Shingledecker, all driving in runs.

Miranda Nicholson led the Warriors to victory in the pitcher’s circle. The bulldog went seven innings, allowing three runs on three hits, striking out nine and walking zero.

Allen took the loss for LaBrae. Allen went three innings, allowing eight runs on ten hits and striking out two.

Brookfield racked up 16 hits in the game. Shingledecker, Sophia Hook, Pugh, DeJoy, Katie Logan, and Sirochman all managed multiple hits. Hook and Shingledecker all had three hits to lead.

Aryana Hartman went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead LaBrae in hits.
