BROOKFIELD SHOWS NO SIGNS OF SLOWING DOWN

COLUMBIANA, OHIO- Miranda Nicholson had all the right stuff on Monday for Brookfield, allowing zero runs as the Warriors bested Crestview by a score of 11-0.

Abby DeJoy led the Warriors to victory by driving in five runs. DeJoy went 3-for-4 at the plate as she drove in runs on a single in the first, a home run in the fourth, and a double in the sixth.

Brookfield went off at the end of the game when they scored five runs in the sixth inning. Brookfield’s big bats were led by Katie Logan, DeJoy, Arianna Jones, and Cadence Huffman, all knocking in runs in the inning.

One bright spot for Crestview was a single by Brooke Brubaker in the second inning.

Nicholson earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for the Warriors. The fireballer surrendered zero runs on one hit over six innings, striking out six and walking zero.

Brubaker led things off on the rubber for Crestview. She surrendered 11 runs on 13 hits over six innings, striking out seven.

Brookfield racked up 13 hits in the game.  DeJoy, Sophia Hook, Katie Gibson, and Jones all collected multiple hits. Hook and DeJoy all had three hits to lead Brookfield. 

The series will conclude on Tuesday night when the two teams meet again in Brookfield.  First pitch is slated for 5:00.
