BROOKFIELD SWINGING AWAY

CORTLAND, OHIO- Abby DeJoy was clutch at the plate with ducks on the pond on Wednesday, driving in five on three hits to lead the Brookfield Warriors past Maplewood 13-3 on Wednesday.

DeJoy drove in runs on a home run in the second, a home run in the third, and a single in the fourth. In the first inning, the Warriors got their offense started when Arianna Jones drove in two when Jones singled.

The Warriors then put up four more runs in the second inning when Katie Logan, DeJoy, and Katie Gibson each drove in runs.

Miranda Nicholson got the win for Brookfield as she lasted four innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out three and walking zero. Rylie Burdge threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Ellie Wakefield toed the rubber for Maplewood as she surrendered ten runs on 14 hits over three innings, walking zero.

Brookfield will return to play when Garfield comes into town on Monday.
