BROOKFIELD OH- It is officially tournament time for volleyball teams across the area. One of the most dangerous teams outside of top four seeds this year is Brookfield coming out of division 4. The Warriors have plenty of offensive weapons, a strong defense, and a schedule that has made them battle tested. That’s a volatile formula for upsets in postseason play. Lauren Shingledecker has been a force this year. Along with being on the 2nd team All-YSN, she is also up for week 7 of Baird Brothers Big Dog of the Valley. Brookfield is the 10 seed in the district, and matches up with 13th seeded Sebring Thursday night in the sectional final at Western Reserve.
Head coach of the Warriors Brie Harbison has been navigating her first season with the team. The biggest thing she has been trying to instill to her team is confidence. Little by little that meter goes up. Coach Harbison was kind enough to come on Running Point this week to talk about her team. She chats with Anthony Hartwig, and Ty Bartell about her team’s growth, the key to a good defense, and much more. Check in on the Warriors with Episode 1 of Coach’s Corner With Brie Harbison.
