BRUBAKER COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN TIGERS

Brooke Brubaker didn’t allow a single run as Crestview defeated Newton Falls 1-0 on Thursday. Brubaker allowed just four hits.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Brubaker struck out eight, while Sophie Tvaroch sat down seven.

Crestview fired up the offense in the first inning.

One bright spot for Newton Falls was a single by Emily Knight in the first inning.

Brubaker pitched Crestview to victory. Brubaker allowed four hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out eight.

Tvaroch took the loss for the Tigers. The bulldog went six innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out seven and walking one.

Alexis Smith, McKenna Schultz, Kaedyn Sutton, and Shianna Mathes each managed one hit to lead.

Joe’l Hood led Newton Falls with two hits in three at bats.
