BRUNGARD BRINGS HOME ALL-STATE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

COLUMBUS, OH- The Toast of the Town for the last four years in the Mahoning Valley is now officially the premier athlete in the Buckeye State.  Springfield’s Beau Brungard has been selected as the Division VI All-Ohio Offensive Player of the Year in addition to his first-team selection on Monday.

Brungard completed 70% of his passes (116/166) for 1779 yards while striking paydirt 22 times through the air, and only throwing three interceptions the entire season.  Beau also was a tank on the ground, rushing 147 times for 1754 yards and 32 touchdowns in 2021.

Defensively, Brungard had 72 tackles and four interceptions and a fumble recovery for the Tigers as well.

Joining Brungard in the honors of becoming First-Team All-State is teammate Lucas Datillo on the offensive line, Marshall Yelkin on the defensive line, and Aaron Groner at linebacker.

Third-Team All-Ohioan’s were highlighted by Springfield’s Bo Snyder.

LaBrae’s Aiden Stephens joins the first-teamers as a defensive back as well, Tre’Von Drake made it on Third-Team, while teammates Devin Carter, Noah Pettry, Adam Pettry, and Nathan Hemberger gain an honorable mention spot.

Western Reserve’s standout David Altiere scored an honorable mention, along with Springfield’s Seandelle Gardner and Zeek Worsencroft, United’s Dallas McCracken, as well as Brookfield’s Connor Heater, and AJ Bartolin.
