BUILT TREVOR TOUGH
By Ty Bartell
NWWTON FALLS OH- After a long road to recovery, Newton Falls senior Trevor Ruscoe is back on the field and ready to build on his past success. The two-way standout returns for the Tigers following an ACL injury, determined to make his mark in the 2025 season.
Ruscoe was a force on the mound last year, posting a 6-1 record with a 2.86 ERA and 43 strikeouts across 44 innings. At the plate, he batted .286 while leading the team with two home runs and 22 RBIs. Now healthy, he is focused on refining his command and helping his team contend for a league and district title.
The journey back was not easy. Facing grueling rehab and uncertain prospects, Ruscoe stayed motivated by keeping his sights on a return to the diamond. Conversations with his doctor and extra work in the gym helped him maintain a positive mindset throughout the process.
Now, as a senior leader, he embraces the responsibility of guiding younger teammates. He believes success will require contributions from the entire roster, including the underclassmen stepping into bigger roles. With a strong work ethic and a competitive fire, Ruscoe aims to elevate both his game and his team.
Beyond high school, Ruscoe has committed to West Virginia University, where he plans to major in engineering. Though his baseball career may be winding down, his impact at Newton Falls will be remembered. As he prepares for his final season in black and orange, Ruscoe is focused on leaving it all on the field and accomplishing that long awaited District Championship for The Tigers!
