BULLDOGS ARE OFF THEIR LEASH

EAST PALESTINE, OHIO- The Brookfield Warriors lost the lead late in a 5-2 defeat to the East Palestine Bulldogs on Monday.

The game was tied at one with the Bulldogs batting in the bottom of the fifth when Cale Moraski doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs. In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Bulldogs tied things up at one when Blake Noel grounded out, scoring one run.

The Bulldogs totaled eight hits in the game as Hunter Bourne and Phoenix Marvin each racked up multiple hits at the plate. Moraski was on the pitcher’s mound for the Bulldogs as the righty went six and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on eight hits and striking out 12.

The Warriors scattered eight hits in the game as Brandon Hardman and Gavin Marsh all had multiple hits. Marsh and Hardman each collected two hits to lead things at the plate.

Hunter Warrender was on the mound for the Warriors. The righthander lasted six innings, allowing eight hits and five runs while striking out six and walking one.

East Palestine will now face South Range in the second round of the Division III statewide tournament.
