BULLDOGS DON’T LET UP

POLAND OH- Poland knew coming in to the game that their opponent in Champion didn’t have their full roster. The Flashes came in missing several varsity starters due to injury.  Maybe that was why Poland came out just a tick slow to start the game, but like most Poland wins in the past 5 seasons the story was their defense that held the door shut while their offense found a groove. Scoring would eventually begin rolling for the Bulldogs and they’d go on to a 51-22 win over Champion..

For the second straight night Mary Brant led Poland with 17 points.  Sarah Forsyth consistently attacked the Flashes zone on her way to 12 points. Katie McDonald was also in double figures with 10 points.

Bella Meyer did everything she could to try and keep Champion in the game. She scored 13 points to lead the Flashes. Kyla Haynie chipped in a solid final frame to finish with 5 points, all of those coming in the fourth.

Poland will have their first road test on Monday as they’ll travel to Boardman.  Champion will look ahead to a game on the road in Warren JFK on Monday.
