BULLDOGS GRAB LATE LEAD, SNEAK PAST WELLSVILLE

NEW WATERFORD, OH- The East Palestine Bulldogs nabbed the lead late in the game in a 3-1 victory over Wellsville on Monday. The game was tied at one with East Palestine batting in the bottom of the sixth when an error scored one run for the Bulldogs.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Cooper Vance struck out seven, while Wellsville pitchers sat down five.  Vance earned the win for East Palestine. He went seven innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out seven and walking zero.

East Palestine got on the board in the second inning when Connor Elliott singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run.  Elliott led the Bulldogs with two hits in two at-bats.

Corbin took the loss for Wellsville. He allowed five hits and three runs over five innings, striking out four and walking zero.
