BULLDOGS OFFENSE IS STILL FEELING GOOD

LEAVITTSBURG OH-  Lakeview leaned on a huge day from Mackenzie Stowe to power past LaBrae 8-3 on Tuesday. Stowe was a spark plug all game, going 3-for-4 and driving in four runs. Her inside-the-park homer in the fifth flipped the game on its head, bringing in two runs and giving the Bulldogs the lead for good. She wasn’t done either—Stowe laced a triple in the sixth that brought in two more to put the game on ice.

LaBrae struck first in the opening frame, cashing in three on a groundout that turned into a bit of a mess defensively. But after that, Lakeview’s defense settled in, and the offense got to work.

In the fifth, Stowe delivered her game-changing swing, and Annaliese Dejulio added a double that brought in another. Then in the sixth, Lakeview busted it open with a string of hits, including Stowe’s triple.

Ava Bacon went the distance in the circle for Lakeview, giving up eight hits and three runs over seven innings while punching out six. She kept the ball in play and let her defense work behind her.

Lakeview racked up 17 hits on the night. Kennedy Bartlett had herself a perfect day at the plate, going 4-for-4. Dejulio, Linnea Kovac, and Isabella Isenberg each had multiple hits to keep the pressure on.

LaBrae had some solid production too, with Madison Johnson, Riley Rowe, and Shelby Bragg each notching two hits. They also turned a double play and played a clean game defensively, but just couldn’t contain Lakeview’s bats.

Lakeview’s back in action Wednesday at home against South Range, while LaBrae hits the road to take on Jackson-Milton.
