BULLDOGS REVENGE WALK-OFF AGAINST RAIDERS WITH ONE OF THEIR OWN

POLAND, OH-  Oh what a difference 24 hours can make.  The heartbreak of a walk-off loss was replaced with the jubilation of a walk-off win for Poland on Wednesday.  The South Range Raiders fell to Poland 10-9 on Wednesday on the final play of the game. The game was tied at nine with Poland Seminary batting in the bottom of the seventh when an error scored one run for Poland Seminary.

Poland Seminary opened up an early lead in the second inning when Braden Olson homered on a 3-1 count, scoring three runs.  The Raiders trailed by five runs in the second inning, but then fought back to lower the final margin.  Range scored seven runs in the failed comeback on a home run by Trey Pancake in the fourth, a double by Trey Pancake in the sixth, a double by Jard Bajerski in the sixth, a single by Ben Rivera in the sixth, and a sacrifice fly by Josh Stear in the sixth.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Poland Seminary tied things up at nine when Zachary Yaskulka drew a walk with the bases loaded, scoring one run.  The difference in this one was Poland scored seven runs in the second inning. Ian LuJake BaconBraden Olson, and Braeden O’Shaughnessy each drove in runs during the inning.  Impressively, the Bulldog bats were hot with Olson and O’Shaughnessy both going yard in the frame.

Mike Kushner took the win for Poland. He went one and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and walking zero.  Trey Pancake took the loss for Raiders. He allowed three hits and three runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two.  Brandon Mikos started the game for the Raiders. He surrendered seven runs on three hits over one and two-thirds innings Alex Barth started the game for Poland. He surrendered six runs on eight hits over five and a third innings, striking out four.

South Range scattered 12 hits in the game. Jaxon AndersonBrandon MikosJard Bajerski, and Trey Pancake each managed multiple hits for the RaidersBrandon Mikos and Jaxon Anderson each collected three hits to lead Range.

Poland totaled eight hits in the game. Andrew TestaBraeden O’ShaughnessyBraden Olson, and Mike Kushner all had multiple hits for Poland.
