BULLDOGS SPOTLESS TO START LEAGUE PLAY

NILES OH- Lakeview kicked off conference play with a battle against Niles, pulling out a gritty 58-54 win. The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead but had to dig deep to fend off a late surge from the Red Dragons.

Sophie Irwin was unstoppable for Lakeview, dropping 22 points to lead the charge. Mackenzie Stow backed her up with 13 points, helping the Bulldogs stay undefeated.

Niles put up a fight behind Kherington Stanford’s 22 points and Ava Ferri’s 16. Maddie Yost and Caroline Cornell each added 8 points, but the Dragons came up just short in their comeback bid.

Lakeview looks to keep rolling Monday when they host Ursuline, while Niles stays in league action with a road game at Hubbard.
