BURT BRINGS THE HURT

SALEM OH- Surprise! Surprise! The Salem Quakers have pitching. A four-headed monster between Gavin Wilms, Brock Young, Carson Rhodes and of course, Cayden Burt.  A guy that takes complete control of the mound when he steps on it, Burt has a composure that tons of athletes wish they possessed.  Coming into this season, Burt has logged the third most innings pitched (IP) on the team, while simultaneously having the lowest Earned Run Average (ERA) on The Quakers .

Dipping below 2.00, Burt’s ERA is one to marvel at, considering the very tough and competitive Eastern Buckeye Conference (EBC) that Salem plays in.  A team that started off 1-3 on the season, some had The Quakers already done for the season. However, the arms stepped up and helped lead Salem to 12 consecutive victories in the regular season, highlighted by a handful of shutouts!

Cayden Burt being responsible for a shutout in that stretch, showcases that he knows the ins and outs around the mound. Able to pitch-to-contact and trust his defense when he needs to, the senior is also able to dial it back to ring up a big strikeout when needed.  Salem and Cayden are determined to show everyone that they are not a parody of themselves from a year ago. Even if it means opening eyes one pitch at a time.

You do not want to miss the EXCLUSIVE interview with Salem senior, Cayden Burt as he joined the boys of Running Point. Only on YSN.
