CANFIELD CONTINUES DOMINANCE IN THE AAC

Canfield jumped out to an early lead over Boardman and took home a 6-3 victory on Monday. Canfield scored on a double by AJ Havrilla in the first inning, a single by Landon Beidelchies in the first inning, and a sacrifice fly by Havrilla in the second inning.

The Cardinals earned the victory despite allowing Boardman to score three runs in the first inning. Boardman scored its runs on a double by Anthony Butto.

In the bottom of the first inning, Boardman tied things up at three. Butto doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs.

Canfield pulled away for good with one run in the second inning. In the second Havrilla’s sac fly scored one run.

Beidelchies earned the win for Canfield. The pitcher lasted six innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out seven. Ryan Petro threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Petro recorded the last three outs to earn the save.

Canfield scattered ten hits in the game. Vince Machuga and Ben Slanker all managed multiple hits. Machuga led with three hits in four at bats.
